Achutam Kesavam- the new Mantra of my life
Caution- Non Hindi speaking readers might come across a lot of Hindi language words, please bear with me.
Hello there beautiful people,
I hope that you all are doing good and staying safe. Lately I have been doing nothing, like absolutely nothing. I have dragged and dragged myself to write this blog and I will be very happy if I finish and publish this. This pandemic has been very hard for me and my family, emotionally. I lost my very dear Uncle, My Sham Mama, to the Corona Virus and we are all tending to different things to deal with this loss.
Naturally, I’ve turned to spirituality for mental peace. I had many questions about life, loss, pain and wanted answers. As an immediate relief I tried little chants like Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare , to help me pace my anxiety.
I have been singing Achutam Keshavam Bhajan song all my life and have always admired the lyrics of the song. (I would like to know the writer of this Bhajan as I couldn’t find the person in my search, please share with me in the comments if you know the writer) The song is a beautiful entanglement of all the famous stories of devotees like Meera, Yashoda, Shabri etc who had love and only love in their hearts for the Lord. The song progresses with these stories one after the other like the fragrant flowers in a garland, bringing a smile on your face.
I have realized that even though I paid enough attention to the song lyrics and admired them, I have never tried applying the mantra to my life. The song ends with these beautiful and profound lyrics —
Naam Japate Chalo Kaam Karte Chalo
Har Samay Krishna Ka Dhyaan Karte Chalo
Yaad Aayegi Unko Kabhi Na Kabhi
Krishan Darshan To Denge Kabhi Na Kabhi
Meaning —
Stop over thinking and continue to do your work chanting the Lord’s name. One day, he will surely find you and fill you with all that you have been waiting for.
This is a simple mantra that helped reduce my anxiety. Listening to this Bhajan on Youtube has been one of my coping mechanisms, I’m sure you will also find peace with it. It is helping me move on from the loss little by little. As a victim of overthinking, I would say that it would bring no good to you. Simple chants and Bhajans have always helped me reduce anxiety, I hope that the Universe gives you strength to pass through whatever you are going through and will give you all that you have been asking for in abundance. Let us heal all together.❤️
Much Love,
Pooja Durgi 🦋
